Todd is a founder and principal of Appareo Capital, LLC. Mr. Binet has over 30 years of business experience, ranging from entrepreneurial to merchant banking to executive positions with private and public companies.
Todd is a co-founder or early investor of Abrado, INet, and Monarch Resources Partners, each energy related companies with substantial institutional backing. He also co-founded and monetized DMS, an energy services company. In 2010, Todd was part of an investor group that acquired Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (“TPG”). TPG was sold in October 2015 to Green Dot, Inc. (GDOT). Todd is the former CEO and co-founder of BVIG Financial which was successfully sold in October 2007. He was formerly the President and a Director of Telscape International, Inc., a publicly traded telecommunications company that successfully sold through a merger in 2000. Prior to joining Telscape, Todd was a partner in a middle market merchant banking firm. He was the Treasurer of Alamo Group, Inc. from 1992 to 1995 and intimately involved in taking that company public. Alamo is an international manufacturing company that trades on the New York Stock Exchange. Todd is a non-operating partner in Sage Partners Ltd., a middle market investment banking firm, and an advisor to the Watermark Companies, LLC, a private investment firm. He also serves as an advisor to the TMC Venture Fund.
Todd earned a BBA in finance from Southern Methodist University with honors, a MBA from the Wharton School of Business and a JD from the University of Pennsylvania. Todd is a recipient of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award and a member of the Houston Chapter of Young Presidents Organization. He sits on the board of the Covenant House of Texas and he and his wife, Heidi, co-chair the Building for Life capital campaign.
